A typesetter knows what s/he has to offer to clients. I call out for this skill from Eswatini because it is a service worth selling online as a freelancer. I have had a wonderful service from one service provider at one point in Matsapha and I was happy. I know that the typesetter who helped me more than 10 years ago is not selling his skill because he quit his job then started out on his own in another field. I have good news for him, and others who are like him, that the skill he has can work for him on a side hustle basis, particularly online.
This is a demonstration of choosing a niche based on a field that you are already skilled on. I just want to give an idea how much money some people who offer online typesetting services make.
- Bushra Jamil from fiverr sells 12 page typesetting at $10 (R187).
- Ismail O. from fiverr sells 80 pages at $65 (R1,119).
- Laxmi N from Upwork charges $ 6.25 ($100) per hour.
- Bhag C from Upwork charges $ 18 (R300) per hour.
It is by no means a special privilege to them but an opportunity that is open to anyone. They have set up their profiles in freelance marketplaces in a way that makes clients want to give them a chance. That is what is required.
Getting listed in freelancing in Africa website
The plan is to list freelancers from Eswatini and beyond in my website, freelancinginafrica.com. The list will grow as time goes on. I will continue to promote the website and the listed freelancers stand chances to benefit.
The listing page is titled ‘Freelancers’.
You are welcome to indicate your interest in being listed by sending me an email to admin@freelancinginafrica.com.
Some more niches to try are found in the page ‘Try a Niche’.
